The Kobold's Hoard Collection Log
I'm somewhat of a 'serial casual collector' - I like collecting things but I have a hard time committing to collecting one particular category of things so instead I've resigned myself to maintaining a number of smaller collections, which I've decided to document here, categorized as follows. With each collection log I post here, I will probably never try to go for a complete collection of anything (that way lies madness and/or expenditure of way too much money to be worth it imho), my preferred way is to collect only things that I feel are meaningful to me in some way or another and will try to include my thoughts on each item in my collections in some way, shape, or form.
What I collect
Lots of things! It's a bit of a problem since I have a hard time committing to just one thing and will pivot my focus frequently. But mainly entertainment media - there, I collect video games, books, physical music, books, magazines, and home video. But I also have collections of other things, such as tabletop games and some toys.
Digital collections and external collection logs
I decided I wouldn't keep logs of my digital stuff here since that's going to just about double the number of things to keep track of, so instead I figure I'll just link that stuff here. Maybe, if sometime in the future, I have some particularly intense thoughts burning a hole in my skull about a digital item that I just have to get out in a rant at some point, I'll start a digital log, but for now, these will have to suffice:
In addition, I keep track of some of my physical collections via the following sites. These are more complete than the logs here because they're a lot less of a hassle to add things to, plus I don't have to write a whole stream-of-consciousness bit about them there.
- Brickset
- Discogs (vinyl records only)
- MyFigureCollection
Not strictly a collection log, but...
If you'd like to just look at my garbage taste in things regardless of whether I own copies of them or not, this would be the section for you. Well, so far I've only actually bothered with MAL, but if I ever decide to make RateYourMusic or Letterboxd accounts, they'll go here too:
